Examination TextBridget Chard aged 33 Years upon Oath saith that She was never Married that She was a Yearly hired Seven with Mr Leonard Phillips Junr in Caddick Road in the Parish of Saint Martin in the ffields within the The liberty of Westminster for the space of Seventeen Months under one hiring at the Yearly Wages of Six Guineas Diet & Lodging quitted the same the 21st Day of Feby 1788 since which She hath not been a Yearly hired Seven for Twelve Months not done any Act whereby to gain a subsequent Settlement And this Examinant upon her voluntary Oath further saith that She is now big with Child or are Children which is or are likely to be born a Bastard or Bastards & to become chargeable to the said Parish of St. Martin in the Fields and that Richard is Temple a Brewers Servant , who Lodges at Hair Dresser in Tottenham Street hired several Times carnal Knowledge of her Body and that one of which Times did beget the said Child or children She now goeth with & is Pregnant of & that he the said Richard Temple is the true & only ffather thereof & nor Man else. Sworn this 12th day of February 1789 before John Collick Bridget Chard her Mark
