Examination TextMary Baxter aged about 26 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she never was married, that she was a by the [blank] bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to Mary Bedford in [blank] in the Parish of St Mary Rotherhithe in the County of Kent and there served her said mistress the space of five years and then her said mistress died, and she this Examinant was at large, which is about [blank] years ago, that she was not assigned to any person, that she then was a yearly hired servant to Mr Sidaway a Victualler at the sign of the Heath Cock in the Strand in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of 13 months all under one hiring at the yearly wages of 5 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about six years ago, that she never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been yearly hired servant for 12 months together since. Sworn the [blank] Day of [blank] 1777 before [blank].
