Examination TextThe Examination of Mary Edwards lodging at Blowers's in One Tun Alley in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields taken this 26th Day of February 1777. This Examinant on her oath saith she is 27 years of age, that she never was married, that she was on the 19th Day of February last delivered in the workhouse of and in the Parish aforesaid of a female bastard child (since christened Ann) yet living and is become chargeable to the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields, that Richard Gorman late a Porter to an upholsterer in Great Russell Street Bloomsbury did beget on her body the said female bastard child, and that he the said Richard Gorman is the true and only father thereof and no man else. Sworn the day and year first above written before Thomas Bullard, John Goodchild.
