Examination TextEleanor McKenzie aged 18 years and upwards lodging in St Martin?s Street in the parish of Saint Martin in the Fields upon her Oath saith That she never was Married nor bound an Apprentice, That she was a yearly hired servant to John Batson a Chairman in Northumberland Court in the Parish aforesaid for the space of fourteen months under one hiring at the yearly wages of Four Pounds Diet and Lodging, That she quitted the said service about two years ago, That she hath not been a yearly hired servant in any one place for twelve months together since, That she hath been Informed that she was born on the Sea, That her father Frederick McKenzie is a soldier and is in Garrison at Berwick upon Tweed, That he was born in that part of Great Britain called Scotland, That he never did any act to gain a settlement in England to this Examinant?s knowledge. Sworn the 11th Day of January 1784 Before William Hyde.
