Examination Text | Mary Rice aged about 28 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith she never was married, that she was a yearly hired servant to Mr Alexander Grigg, a Staymaker in Bull Inn Court in the Strand in the Parish aforesaid for the space of two years and a half all under one hiring at the yearly wages of 5 pounds five shillings diet and lodging, quitted the same about three months ago, that she hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since.
