taken this 9th. day of June 1799 in
the Parish of St. James Westminster
in the house of John Barton< no role > the
Sign of the Cock New street
her Broad Street Carnaby Market
before Anthony Gell< no role > his Majesty's
Coroner for the said City & Liberty
touching the Death of John
Manderson
< no role > now lying dead there
as follows to wit.

Margaret Miles< no role > No. 14 New Street Carnaby Market
being sworn deposeth that the deceased her Lodged
with her between 4 and 5 Years and was a Brick layer
Labourer that on Monday night last she between 9 and 10 she went up
stairs intothehis room when he was sitting on the Bed
in his Cloaths and this Deponent told him he was in Liguor but he said
he was not, but was very ill, that she then went down
Stairs and heard nothing more of him until the
next day, (Tuesday the 4th. Inst.) when another Lodger
named Mrs. Daney asked her if she had [..] was or heard any
thing of the old man meaning the deceased) and the sd
she had not, upon Mr. Daney and Mr. Riley another
Lodger
