Informations of Witnesses
taken this 21 March 1799
at the House of Chas Povey < no role > the Sign of the Feather
in Dean Street in the parish of St. Margaret on
View of the Body of a new born Male Child then & there
lying dead

Amey< no role > the Wife of Jno. Rowley< no role > of No. 26 Dartmouth Row
in the parish of St. Margaret aforesaid of the London Militia
being sworn saith that, she was alone on
MsTuesday last the 19th. Inst. in Privy Garden
near Whitechapel about 10 Minutes
after 8 o'Clock & she saw a Boy about 13 yrs
of Age kicking of something a Soldier at
this time happened to coming & asked the
Boy what he was kicking he replied he
did not know the soldier immediately
sucked up a view of dark Brown or Green
Serge (which appears to be apart of a Gown
or petty coat) & or opening it they found
the Deced at this time two women
passed by who mke present at the
time they opened the Serge this
Dept. was merly passing by to go
home & she does not know how
the Child came there the Child dead was
was quite cold.
