the County of Middlesex }


Informations of Witnesses taken
this 15th. of March 1799 at the
Dwelling House of John Steel< no role > the Sign of the
Green Coat Boy in Tothill Fields in the Parish of
St. Margaret on view of the Body James Ellis< no role > aged 18 month an
Infant then & there lying dead

Mary Cockerill< no role > Broadway Way Westmr a lodger
at St Smith being sworn saith that on Saturday last the 9
Inst. then Dept. was Mending the Mother
of the Deced who was lying in the deced
& 2 other Children the eldest about 8
were sitting by the fire the deced fell
against the fire & at that Instant
the Coffee Pot with Coffee therein much
[..] nearly [..] tell
[..] over the Deced & scalded the left
Arm &theunder the left Ear. This
Dept sent immediately for Doctor [..]
who came & applied what he judged
necessary notwithstanding wch. he
died on Monday Evening. The Child
has been much converted since the
Accident happened. The Child has been
properly attended & [..] had Fits
before the Accident
