to wit,


An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King at the Dwelling house ofHill the Sign of the Barley Mow in Mount Street in the Parish
of Saint George Hanover Square within the Liberty of Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church
of St. Peter, Westminster , in the County of Middlesex , the thirteenth day of March 1799
in the thirty ninth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third,
by the Grace of God, of Great-Britain, France, and Ireland, King Defender of the Faith,
and so forth, before Anthony Gell< no role > , Esq . Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City
and Liberty, on View of the Body of a New born Male Child then and there
lying dead, upon the Oath of several Jurors whose Names are here under written, and
Seals affixed, good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly chosen, who being then and
there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the King, when, how, and by
what Means the said new born Male Child came to h is Death, do upon
their Oath say that some person or persons to these Jurors unknown not having the
Fear of God before his her or their Eyes but moved and seduced by the Instigation of the
Devil on the Twelfth day of March in the year aforesaid at the Parish and in the
Liberty aforesaid with force and Arms in and upon the said the said new born
Male Child in the peace of God and of our said Lord the King, then and
there being feloniously wilfully and of his her or their Malice forethought, did
make an Assault And that the said Person or Persons unknown with
some certain Instrument also to these Jurors unknown which he she or they
then and there had and held in his her or theirrighthand him the said
new born Male Child in and upon and under the right Ear of the said new
born Male Child then and there did strike stab and penetrate and tha the
said Person or persons unknown did then and there give unto the said new
from Male Child under the right Ear with the Instrument aforesaid two
Mortal Wounds of which said Mortal Wounds he the said New born Male Child
then and there instantly died, And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath
aforesaid do say that the said Person of Persons unknown him the said new
born Male Child in Manner and by the Means aforesaid feloniously wilfully
and of his her or their M Alice forethought did kill and murder against the Peace
of our said Lord the King his Crown and Dignity And that the said Person or
Persons unknown after committing the Felony and Murder aforesaid withdrew
and fled for the same

IN WITNESS whereof , as well the said Coroner as the said Jurors, have to this Inqusition
set their Hands and Seals the Day, Year and Place first above written.
