in order to walk upon it and
whilst he was walking on it
by his Prepare thereon
the Ladder turned up on and
Side by which means he fell
off between the said two Barges
into the River Thames and he rose
twice up above the surface of the
Water and trid to lay hold of the
Ladder but could not neach
and this Deponent ran to the
Ladder and tried to put it to him
but the Side ran so strong that
it carried out of his Redch and
he sunk under the Surface of
the Water and never rose up
again, that divers Persons
searched for him and his Body
was brought to Shoar at Mr.
Medleys Wharf [..] 35 Minutes afterwards when no Signs
of Life appeared in him he was

then conveyed to the House of
Wm. Hawkins< no role > the Sign of the Red
Lion in Parliament Street where
the usual means were tried for
his recovery but without the
desired Effect
