taken this 23d. August 1798 in the
Parish of St. James Westminster
at the House of Patrick Walsh< no role >
the Sign of the Red Lion in paved
alley pall Mall before
Anthory Gell< no role > his Majesty's
Coroner for the sd. City & Liberty
touching the Death of Joseph
Garden there and there lying
dead as follow, to Wit

Henry Thompson< no role > of No. 25 Great St. Anns
Street Westminster being Sworn deponth
that he has known there deceased also is aged 50 year for several
Years last that he was formerly in the 17th. [..]
of Light Dragoons and served with him in
Americe and late a Chelsea Pensioner that
hewashad been for name times past afficted with
an Asthmatical Complaint and had a Blisther
on his [..] in Order to reline his Shortness
of Breath that a Little before ten o'Clock last
Night as this Deponent was unlocking the
Centinel Box No. 3 in pall which was the
Station
