Informations of Witnesses taken
this 4th Decr. 1797 in the Parish of St.
George Hanover Square at the House
of Willm. Cartmeal< no role > the Sign of the
Coach & Horses in Mount Street Grosvner
Square before Anthony Gell< no role > his
Majesty's Coroner for the said City and
Liberty touching the Death of Joseph
Bowring
< no role > their and there lying dead
as follow to Wit.

Thomas Edkins< no role > of Davies Street Berkley
Square Baker one of the Overseers of St. George's
Hanover Square being sworn deposeth that
about 2 on Saturday Afternoon last the
deceased came to this Deponent for an
Order to be admitted into St. George's Worke
house and said he was a poor Person
[..] which upon [..] Enquiry he was satisfied
to be true whereupon he wrote him an
Order to be admitted into the sd. Workhouse
and gave it to him and just as the deceased
got, to the Door [..] in the the Shop of this Deponents house
he droppd down and this Deponent went
to assist him when he found both his Hands
