taken this 5th day of October 1797
in the Parish of St. James Westminster
at the Dwelling house of
the Sign & the Rising Sun
in on that Piccadilly before
Anthony Gell< no role > his Majesty's Coroner
for the said City and Liberty touching
the Death of Sarah Hughes< no role > then
and there lying dead as followed
to Wit

Ann Wilson< no role > of No. 5 Gibson Court Mary le Bone
Street st. James Westmr. being sworn deposeth that
she has known the Deced as Servant to Mr.
Pride for upwards of four Years last past
that Mr. Pride has informed her that she has at
times appeared to have been in a deranged state
of Mind that this Morning between 8 & 9
Mr. Pride sent to this Department and informd
her that the deceased had not come down stairs
and therefore was apprehensive that she was
not well therefore desired her and his man to go
up stairs and in what Situationwhatshe was in and when they
enter'd the Room they found her hanging with a
Cord round her Neck the other End of which was
fastend to a Cloak Pin fixed in the wall close to her
Bed
