Robert Moody< no role > of Hungerford Street Waterman
being sworn deposeth that a little before 8
o Clock Yesterday morning being in his Boat
in the River Thames hear Hungerford Stairs
he observed the Body of a Boy floating on
the Water, whereupon he drew the Body to
Shoar on Hungerford Stairs when it was in
a very Putrid State and he imagines he
must have been drowned two months
and had [..] on dark blue Waistcoat and
light coloured corded Breaches and
only one Shoe on which was tied with
a string the Deponent went immediately
from thence [..] to St Martins Workhouse
and reported what he had seen and done
whereupon the Master of the Workhouse met
some Persons with a Shell who conveyed the
Body of the said Boy from Hungerford Stairs to
St Martins Bone house This Deponent doth
not know who he is or when or where he was
drowned.

The Verdict, That the Body of a Boy was on Sunday morng last
found drowned in the River Thames near
Hungerford Stairs but when how where or by
what means he was drowned did not come
to the knowledge of the Jurors.
