Informations of Witness
taken this 2 Novr. 1795
at the House of Michl. Roberts< no role > the Sign of the
Red Lion in Pye Street Paarish of St. Johns
Westmr. touching the Death of Margaret peddington< no role >
then & there lying dead .

Sarah Goley< no role > No.45 old Pye Street Wife of Edwd. Soley< no role > Coach wheele
being Sworn Saith, that, she has known the deced about
8 weeks who lodged in her House that her Husband was or
Sergt. & died afraid & she came home about 5 months aged
the deced has opften remarks that she was very meloneholly
& at other times very mery but never confessed that any
thing was the matter with her this Dept. thinks that
she was hurt in my mind but cannot say Ann Cut
[..] but particularly so for the last fortnight. this Dept.
went out on Saturday moons last & returned abt. 9 o' Clock
Hervent to the Door of the Room belonging to the
Deced & perceived that [..] the Key was written [..] the door
the knocked at the Door nobody answered & she went
away She want out at 10 returned abt. 4 o' Clock &
again knocked at the Door but nobody answered soon
ofter this the went to the Door again & pushed at ye
day & she saw the Deced hanging by a small Cord
tied round her Neck & fastened to an Iron Nail in the
Wainstcoat the Dept. alarmed the heightonhead & the
way immediately cut down & way then into dand.
She was a paid much distressed in Circumstance
the has no doubt but the was deranged in her mind
& hung herself.
