he appeared to be very well, that he did not
see him Yesterday (being Sunday) that this
Deponent who left inwentto the deceaseds. hours to work in at 6 this morning
the Shop as usual that the deceased did not come
down stairs into the Shop about that time as he
and to do, and about 9 this Deponent having
occasion to speak to him upon business
he went up to his Chamber Door and
knocked a bit and called to him several
times, but received no Answer, whereupon
he open'd the Chamber Door and called to
him a just but he never moved or spoke, and this
Deponent then imagined he was dead and
therefore went down Stairs immediately &
sent William Anderson< no role > (another Journeymen )
to fetch Mr. Chevalier an Apothecary who
was Apothecary to the deceased, and who came
immediately and examined his Body and said
that he could give no a Assistance that would
be of any use towards rentering him to life as
he had been dead sometime.

Surgeon being sworn depontt [..] Neetman
nine and ten o'Clock this morning he
was sent for to go to see Mr. Carnley a hope
was informed by the Person that fetched him
that he was dead, and when he went into the
Chamber where the deceased and to sleep, he
saw him lying on his back in Bed as if
aslup, whereupon this deponent first
examined his Countenance which evidently
gave the Idea of death he then attempted
to take [..] one of his hands out of bed and felt
for his Pulse but found he had none &
that his Arm was very stiff, he then [mark]
with Difficulty open'd his right Eye which
was perfectly insensible & had lost its lustre
entirly from all which Circumstances he
had reason to believe that he had been dead
