Informations of Witnesses
taken this 5th. August 1794.
at the Dwelling House of James Gaunt< no role > Sign of the
two Brewers in Carrington Place park lane paris
of St. George Hanover Square in View of the Body of
Ann Day< no role > then & there lying dead. (aged 4 yrs & 7 Months
Mary Day< no role > Widow No 21 Carrington place
being sworn deposeth and saith that she lighted the
fire in her neighbours room about 1 o'Clock yesterday &
came to the of Mr Gaunt for a Pill for another
Child who was sick His Dept left the Des
in the room where she had lighted the Fire
only with her saw sister about 8 yr. of age His
Deponent hath often before left the deced
in a room in here there was a Fire this
Deponent returnedinto her roomin less than
5 Minutes & found the deced in her own
room which adjoins to Mr. Nooris where
she had lighted the Fire, all in Flames
the Dept immediately threw water over the
deced & by their team extingins hed the Flames
the took the Cloths immediately off of the deced
& put he Bed this Dept. sent after her webb
a Surgeon in a half Moon Streetuntointo his Servantassistant
came immediately leg and [..] rendered all
hopeble assistance but told this Deponent
