28th. day of January 1794 in the Parish of Saint
Margaret Westminster at the House of
William Hawkins< no role > the Sign of the Rid Lion
in Parliament Street Westmr. before Anthony
Gell
< no role > His Majestys Coroner for the said City
and Liberty touching the Death of Sophia
Poignand
< no role > an Infant then and there lying
dead as follow

John Fox< no role > of Parliament Street Gentleman being
sworn deposeth and saith that Dr. Poignand
having been out on Friday morning last to visit some Patents returned
home and upon entering the house he heard a great
Noise above Stairs and inquiring whatwhowas
the matter the Servant said it was only the Children
that were playing, but the Noise increasing Dr. Poignand
ran up Stairs and was informed on the Stairs head
by his Son George < no role > (about 10 Years of Age) that his
Sister was all on Fire whereupon he rushed into the
Room and rolled her in the Carpet and extinguished
the Flambs and immediately sent for Mr. Lynn
a Surgeon who used all Applications necessary in
