Informations of Witnesses taken this 6th. day of July
1793 in the Parish of St. James at the Dwelling
House of Hannah Kirby< no role > Widdow the [..] of
the Butcher Arms in Marlborough Court
Carnaby Market before Anthony Gell< no role > Esqr .
Coroner for the City and Liberty aforesaid
touching the Death of George King< no role > then and
there lying Dead as follow

William Thorpe< no role > of Barrett Court St. Mary
le Bone Porter being sworn deposeth &
saith That he this Deponent was beating a
Carpet on one side of Gt. Cumberland thereof
where he & his Partner had fixed up Poles for
the Purpose of beating Carpets, on Friday the
5th. day of July between the Hours of 8 & 4
in the afternoon That as they were beating a
Carpet a sudden Gust of Wind came & blew
the Poles & Cropstick to the Ground altho
he this Deponent exorted his strength so the
utmost to prevent it falling That this
Deponent did not then know the Deceased
or any other Child or person [..] except his Partner Whatever was near and
[..] was much astonished to find the fatal
Accident on looking round Whereupon his
Partner Mr. King Father to the Deceased
asked Deponent of her was hurt to which
Deponent increased in the negative
