In Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King at the Parish of Saint James, Westminster
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the thirteenth day of Novmber 1792 in the thirty third
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of
Great-Britain, France, and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Anthony

good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said John Crompton< no role > came to
h is Death, do upon their Oath say that the said John Crompton< no role > on the said
thirteenth day of November in the year aforesaid at the Parish and in
the Liberty aforesaid; and for some time before, had been afflicted with
a violent Cough and shortness of Breath. That the said John Crompton< no role >
being employed in the Capacity of a Watchman at the Parish and in
the Liberty aforesaid appeared at Five of the Clock in the Morning of the said
thirteenth day of November, in the year aforesaid, as well as usual, and that at
Six of the Clock in the Morning of the said Day, the said John Crompton< no role >
was found died in his Box. That upon Examination of the Body of him the said [..]
John Crompton< no role > there appeared no external Marks of Violence But that upon
further Ispection after opening the Body of the said John Crompton< no role > it appeared [..]
the whole Chest was filled with Blood and Cerum in Consequence of a large blood Vessel
going from the Heart being ruptured, which was the immediate Cause of this Death
And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say, that the said
John Crompton< no role > in manner, and by Reason of the Rupture of the Blood Vessel
aforesaid came to his Death, and not otherwise, In Witness whereof
[..] the said Coroner as the said William Hamilton< no role > , Foreman of the
said Jurors, on the behalf of himself and the rest of his said Fellows
in their Presence, have, to this Inquisiton set their hands and
Seals the Day, Year and Place above-written.
