An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King at the Parish of Saint Martin in the Fields
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the twelfth day of November 1792 in the thirty third
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of
Great-Britain France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and So forth, before Anthony
Gell
< no role > , Esq. Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on
View of the Body of Martha Fuller< no role > then and there lying dead , upon

good and lawful Men of the Said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly Sworn ad charged to enquire for our Said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the Said Martha Fuller< no role > came to
her Death, do upon their Oath Say that the Said Martha Fuller< no role > not being of sound
Mind, Memory, and Understanding, but Lunatic and distracted, on the tenth
day of November, in the year aforesaid, at the Parish and in the Liberty
aforesaid, one end of a certain Piece of Small End unto an Iron Nail drove
into the Girder of the Ceiling of the Loging Room, or Apartment of her the
Said Martha Fuller< no role > Situate and being in Red Lion Court , White Hart Yard
Drury Lane , at the Parish and in the Liberty aforesaid, and the other End thereof
about her our Neck, did fix, tye, and faster, and therewith did then and
these hang, Sufocate, and Strangle herself, of Which Said Suffocation, Hanging,
and strangling, She the Said Martha Fuller< no role > then and there died,
And so the Jurors aforesaid, upon their Oath aforesaid, do Say, that the
Said Martha Fuller< no role > . not being of sound Mind, Memory & Understanding,
but Lunatic and distracted, in manner and by the means aforesaid,
did Kill herself. In Witness whereof as well the Said
Coroner , as the Said John Groome< no role > Foreman of the Said Jurors on
the behalf of himself and the rest of his Said Fellows in their
Presence, have, to this Inquisition set their hands and Seals
the Day Year, and Place abovewritten.
