An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King at the Parish of Saint John the Evangelist
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the Country of Middlesex , the nineteenth day of October 1792 in the Thirty second
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of
Great Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Anthony
Gell
< no role > , Esq. Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on
View of the Body of Sarah Jones< no role > then and there lying dead , upon
the Oath of Thomas Stanley< no role > , Samuel Ross< no role > , Joseph Tarden< no role > , John Pratt< no role > ,
Michel Robert< no role > Robert Hall< no role > , Henry Try< no role > , William Manning< no role > ,
Samuel Wood< no role > , James Barnett< no role > , John Vincent< no role > , John Randall< no role > , and
John Shedell< no role >
good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who, being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what means the said Sarah Jones< no role > came to
h er Death, do upon their Oath say that the said Sarah Jones< no role > on the Fifteenth
day of October, in the year aforesaid, and for a Long time before, at the Parish
and in the Liberty aforesaid, did Labor and Lanquish under a Grievous
disease of Body, to Wit, an Asthma; and that on the said fifteenth day
of October, in the year aforesaid, at the Parish and in the Liberty aforesaid
she the said sarah Jones< no role > departed this life by the Visitation of God in a
natural Way, to wit, of the disease and distember aforesaid, and not
by any Hurt or Injury received from any person or persons, to the
Knowledge of the said Jurors. And so the Jurors aforesaid
upon their Oath aforesaid, do say that the said Sarah
Jones
< no role > in the manner and by the Means aforesaid, came
to her Death, and not otherwise. In Witness whereof
as well the said Coroner as the said Thomas Stanley< no role >
Foreman of the said Jurors , on the behalf of himself and
the rest of his Fellows in their presence have
to this Inquisition set their hands and Seals the Day
Year, and above written.
