An Inquisition Indented,taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King at the Parish of Saint George Hanover Square
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the collegiate Church of St.Peter, Westminster ,
in the Country of Middlesex ,the Fourth day of October 1792 in the Thirty second
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God,of
Great Britain, France and Ireland,King, Defender of the Faith,and so forth,before Anthony
Gell
< no role > , Esq. Coroner of our said lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on
View of the Body of John Hunt< no role > then and there lying dead ,upon
the Oath of James Brodie< no role > ,James Gaunt< no role > ,Edward Havell< no role > ,Thomas Britton< no role >
William Penn< no role > ,John Tvanfield< no role > ,Thomas Sands< no role > ,Thomas Mose< no role >
Joseph Higgs< no role > ,John Philips< no role > ,Richard Weather< no role > ,&Thomas Rogers< no role >
good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who, being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what means the said John Hunt< no role > came to
his Death,do upon their Oath say, That the said John Hunt< no role > on the First
day of October in the Year aforesaid,at the parish and in the Liberty
aforesaid being employed to cmload some Timber,To Wet,two Elm Trees which
he the said John Hunt< no role > had conseyed to the House of Thomas Eaton< no role > by
means of a two wheel Trck it so happened,that accidentally,Casually
and by Misfortune,and by reason of the reskit fulness and Mismanagement
of him the said John Hunt< no role > in the unloading of the Timbler aforesaid
the Poll of the two wheel-truck aforesaid in separeting from the
Timber aforesaid struck the Head of him the said John Hunt< no role > ,and by
the Face thereof did then and there throw kins the said John Hunt< no role > to the George
by means hereof he the said John Hunt< no role > received one mortal wound or
Bruise on the head of him the said John Hunt< no role > from the Poll of the two
wheel Truck aforesaid,of which said Mortal wound or Bruise aforesaid
the said John Hunt< no role > then and there instanly died .And so the Jurors aforesaid
upon their Oath aforesaid,do say that the said John Hunt< no role > in manner and by the
Means aforesaid accidentally casually and by Misfortune came to his Death and
net otherwise; And that the said Poll of the said two wheel-Truck was the casualy
of the Death of the said John Hunt< no role > and is of the Value of One Shilling and of the
property and in the Possession of Thomas Towlin< no role > Last wheel night in edward
Road,or of his Assisigns.In Witness where of as well the said Coroner as
the said James Brodie< no role > Foreman of the said Jurors on the behalf of himself
and the rest of his said Fellows in their presence have to this Inquisition
set their hands and seals the day, year and Place abovementioned.
