Informations of Witnesses taken this first day of
October 1792 in the Parish of St. George Hanover
Square in the Liberty aforesaid at the Dwelling
house of Joseph Hill< no role > in Mount Street
Grosvenor Square Known as the Sign of the
Barley Mow before and Anthony Gell< no role > Coroner
for the said City and Liberty touching the
Death of Jane Sale< no role > then and there lying dead

Thomas Stown< no role > of Mount Street Grosvener Square
Undertaken being sworn saith that on Thursday
last the 27th. of Septr. he had Information that a
Woman [..] hadwas drowned in the Serpentine River
in the Parish of St. George Hanover Square and
had been taken out of the said River and said upon
the Bank by some Gentleman's Servant, whereupon
he sent three of his men with a Shell who brot.
her from thence to his own house where he
examined the Body upon which there were no
Marks of Violence and on the Next day (Friday
this Deponent ordered his men to convey the
Body across the way to the workhouse .
That this Deponent upon Enquiry found that her
Name was Jane Sale< no role > and that a Daughter of her
who lived in France used to remit her some
Money Yearly but that the deceased had not
received
