An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King at the Parish of Saint Margaret Westminster

within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the Twenty Seventh day of June in the Thirty first
Year of the Reign on our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of
Great-Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas
Prickard
< no role > , Gentleman , Coroner of our said Lord the King for the Said City and Liberty, on
View of the Body of John Hughes< no role > then and there lying dead , upon
the Oath of William Jordan< no role > , John Poole< no role > , Jonathan Waite< no role >

John Ely< no role > and Jonathan Griffiths< no role > good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly Sworn and charged to enquire our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said John Hughes< no role > came to
h is Death, do upon their Oath say, That on the Twenty fifth day of June in
the Year aforesaid the said John Hughes< no role > and one James Scott< no role > were Struggling
together in Tothill Fields in the said Parish of St. Margaret within the
Liberty and County aforesaid and that it so happened that the said John
Hughes
< no role > fell down upon the Ground and thereby then and there Casually and
by Misfortune and against the Will of the said James Scott< no role > received a
violent concussion in the Brain of him the said John Hughes< no role > , of which
said violent and mortal Concussion he the said John Hughes< no role > on the said
Twenty fifth day of June at the Parish and in the Liberty and County
aforesaid did die, And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid
do say that the said John Hughes< no role > in manner and by the means aforesaid
Casually and by Misfortune and against the Will of the said James
Scott
< no role > did die

In Witness whereof as well the said
Coroner as the said William Jordan< no role > Foreman of the said Jurors
on the behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows in their presence
have to this Inquisition set their Hands Seals the Day Year and
Place abovementioned
