Informations taken this Thirtieth day
of March 1791 at the Parish of St. Martin
in the Fields within the Liberty of
Westmr . in the County of Midsex upon an
Inquisition John Macauley< no role > an Infant lying
dead in the said Parish Liberty and
County.

James Macauley< no role > of Moor's Yard in the Parish
of St Martins in the Fields Westmr. Boot closer
Father of George John Macauley< no role > the Deced
being an Infant of the Age of One Year & an half
on his Oath Saith that on Sunday last
the twenty seventh Infant this Dept. was in
his Room, with his Wife the Deced and the
two Apprentices, Says that the Wife had
Boiled some Greens and took them out
of the Tin Kittle and was sqeezing the
Water from them, leaving the Kettle with
the Boiling Water on the Floor Says
that the Deced was upon a Table in the
Room and Dept. desired his Wife to put
him upon the Floor last he might fall
down, which she did, and Dept. saw the
Deced upon the Floor Says that in about
a Minute Dept. heard the Child cry being
fallen unto the Tin Kettle with the Boiling
Water, That Mrs. Macauley immediately
took the Child out of the Water and gave
it to Dept. who took off the Gown which
the Deced had on, and the Skin came off
from the Deced's Back, being very much
Scalded & Burnt Says that an Apothecary
was fetched who Bathed him with Sweet Oil, and
afterwards attended the deced who died
Yesterday Morning in consequence of
being Scalded, and Dept. Says that it was
[..] ely Accidental
