An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King at the Parish of Saint Margaret
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter , Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the First day of January in the Thirty first
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of
Great-Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas

View of the Body of Francis Drake< no role > an Infant then and there lying dead , upon

chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said Francis Drake< no role > the Infant came to
h is Death, do upon their Oath say, That the said Francis Drake< no role > the Infant
Aged about Three years being subject to Fits, and standing by the side of
the Fire in the Lodging Room or Apartment of Henry Drake< no role > in the
Dwelling House of Charles Forward< no role > situate in Dartmouth Row in in the Parish
City and Liberty aforesaid on the Twentieth day of December in the year aforesaid
It so happened that the said Francis Drake< no role > fell down under the Grate,
and that a Quantity of boiling Water in a certain saucepan upon the Fire
fell down upon the Head and Body of the said Francis Drake< no role > by means
whereof the said Francis Drake< no role > the Infant was then and there Accidentally
Casually and by Misfortune scalded and burnt in and upon the Head and Body
of which said sealding and burning he the said Francis Drake< no role > from the said
Thirtieth day of December in the year aforesaid until the Thirty first day of the
same Month did languish and live on which said Thirty first day of December
in the year aforesaid at the Parish and in the Liberty and County aforesaid he
the said Francis Drake< no role > of the scalding and burning aforesaid did die, And
so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say that the said Francis
Drake
< no role > in manner and by the means aforesaid Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune
came to his Death and not otherwiseIn Witness whereof as well the said
Coroner as the said John Mills< no role > Foreman of the said Jurors on the behalf of himself
and the rest of his Fellows in their Presence have to this Inquisition at their
Hands and Seals the Day Year and Place abovementioned
