Informations taken this Twenty ninth day
of December 1790 at the Parish of St. George Hanr. Sqr
within the Liberty of Westmr. in the County of Midsex
upon an Inquisition touching the death of
John Dane< no role > lying dead in the said Parish Liberty
& County

Thomas Woodward< no role > of Chelsea Water Works Bridge Labourer
on his Oath saith that between Three & Four o'Clock
Yesterday in the Afternoon the Twenty Eighth Instant, found
the Deceased in the Water in one of the Cuts belonging to Chelsea
Water Works lying upon his Face in the Mind about two
Yards form the Shore got hold of the Deced Cloths pulled him
to the Shore [..] in the Yard belonging to Mr. Woodward near
the Bridge in the Parish of St. George Hanover Square says
that the deced was dead but did not appear to belong drowned
that he observed no Marks of Violence upon the Deced and believes
that the Deced was Accidentally drowned that he assisted
in searching the Deced's Pockets and found in then Ten shillings
in Silvers and Two Shillings and three pence halfpenny in appear

Victualler on his oath saith that on Monday Night last the
Twenty seventh Instant about Six o'Clock John Dane< no role > came
into Deponents House rather in Liquor that he Drank a
Pint of beer there having a Bundle of Stockings went of think
he told to different People in the Tap Room. that he staid
about half an Hour them went out and returned in about
Five Minutes, said he had met some People that wanted to
[..] defraud him of his Property says that he staid about Two
Minutes in the House and then went out again, which way he went
