Informations taken this Twenty first
day of December 1790 at the Parish
of St. James within he Liberty of
Westmr. in the Liberty of Midsex upon
an Inquisition touching the death
of Joseph Harrison< no role > on Infant lying
dead in the said Parish Liberty & County

Hester Shield< no role > wife of William Shield< no role >
a Gentleman 's [..] Lodging at Mr.
Thomas Kelly< no role > [..] Street in the
Parish of St. James Westmr. on her Oath
saith That Mr. Harrison lodges in the
adjoyning Room on the Second Floor
Says that on Saturday last in the
Forenoon Dept. being in her own Room
heard Joseph Harrison< no role > the Deced an
Infant about three Years and an half
of Age Son to Mrs. Harrison cry very
Violent in this Mother's Room, not
knowing whether the Mother was there
Dept. went into the Room and saw the
Deced near the Door with his Cloaths on
Fire Says that the called for Assistance
and another Lodger came down and they
endeavoured extinguish the Faines
That in taking off the Child's Cloaths
they preceived the Child was burnt upon the
Neck left Arm & left Leg, Says that the
deced was Bathed with Sweet Oil and the
Apothecary afterwards sent something in
a Quarter Bottle to Ansent him, and the Deced
died the next Morning consequence
of being burnt, believes it to be
merely Accidental.
