An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King at the Parish of Saint Martin in the Fields
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the fourth day of May in the Thirtieth
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of
Great-Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas
Prickard
< no role > , Gentleman, Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on
View of the Body of Mary Carbet an Infant then and there lying dead, upon
the Oath of William Chapman< no role > , Joseph Dashwood< no role > , John Brown< no role >
William Jee< no role > , Peter Poland< no role > , James Dixon< no role > , Thomas Williams< no role > .,
John Large< no role > , John Havers< no role > , George Murphy< no role > , Samuel Goldsmith< no role >
James Galloway< no role > and Benjamin Hinchs< no role > good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for out said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said Mary Corbet< no role > came to
her Death, do upon their Oath say That on the Thirtieth day of April in the
Year aforesaid, the said Mary Corbet< no role > an Infant Aged upwards of Four
Years, being at Play in the Lodging Room of Elizabeth Innes< no role > 's situate in
off Alley, in the said Parish of Saint Martin in the Fields within the
Liberty and County aforesaid, and the Sash being up. It so happened that
Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune the said Mary Corbet< no role > the Infant
fell out of and Through the Window in the said Room upon the Stone
Pavement in the said Alley, and thereby then and there received a Mortal
Wound and Fracture in and upon the Forehead over the Right Eye of the
said Mary Corbet< no role > of which said Mortal Wound and Fracture she the said
Mary Corbet< no role > at the said Parish of St. Martin in the Fields within the Liberty
and County aforesaid, from the said Thirtieth day of April in the Year aforesaid,
until the second day of May in the same year did languish and live, on which
said second day of May she the said Mary Corbet< no role > at the Parish and in the Liberty
and County aforesaid of the mortal Wound and Fracture aforesaid did die, And son
the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say that the said Mary Corbet< no role >
in manner and by the Means aforesaid Accidentally Casually and by misfortune
came to her Death and not otherwise.

In Witness whereof as well the said
Coroner , as the said William Chapman< no role > Foreman of the said Jurors on the
behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows in their Presence, have to this
Inquisition set their Hands and Seals the Day Year and Place abovementioned
