Informations taken this Third day of
day of February 1789 at the Parish of
St. Margaret within the Liberty of
Westminster in the County of Midsex
upon an Inquisition touching the death
of a new born Female Child going dead
in the said Parish Liberty & County.

Henry Fentham< no role > No. 19 Vane Hall Square in the
Parish of St. Mary Lambeth Carver & Gilder on
his Oath saith That about half hour after four
o'Clock Yesterday Afternoon this Dept. was coming
from Lambeth over Wesmr. Bridge, and doing
several Persons together on the Upper side
of the Bridge nearest to the Westmr. End, he
Stopt and saw a Female Child lying on her
Back between two of the Ballas trades of the
Bridge the Child being dead and a black spot
upon her Forehead on the left side and the
appearence of some hurt on the Right Eye
Says that he carried the Child to Mr. Abbott one
of the Overseers of St. Margarets Parish who
ordered Dept. to carry the Child to the Workhouse
which he did, and left her there.

Surgeon on his Oath saith That he this day
Examined the Body of a new born Female Child
in the Workhouse belonging to the Parish of St.
Margaret Westmr . and found no external Marks
of violence upon the Child, That he afterwards
opened the Body and tried the usual Experiment
of the Leings and has every reason to believe
that the Child never drew Breath, but that
it was dead born.
