An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King at the Parish of Saint George Hanover Square
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the twelfth day of January in the twenty ninth
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of
Great-Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas
Prickard
< no role > , Gentleman, Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on
View of the Body of Sarah Coombe< no role > then and there lying dead, upon
the Oath of William Whitehead< no role > , John Shippey< no role > , Samuel Strong< no role >

and James Morris< no role > good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said Sarah Coombe came to
h er Death, do upon their Oath say That the said Sarah Coombe on the
twenty second day of December in the Year aforesaid, was going up
Stairs to her Lodging room in the Dwelling House of John Riley< no role >
situate in Rupert Street in the Parish of Saint James, within
the Liberty, and County aforesaid, It so happened that the said
Sarah Coombe Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune, fell down
from the said Stairs unto the bottom there of upon the Pastage
Paved with Bricks, by means whereof she the said Sarah Coombe
then and there Received a Wound and Contusion in and upon
the left side of her Head, and a Mortal Concussion in the brain
of which said Wound and concussion she the said Sarah
Coombe from the said twenty Second day of December until the
ninth day of January in the Year aforesaid at the said Parish
of Saint George Hanover Square within the Liberty and County
aforesaid did Languish and Languishing did live on which said
ninth day of January in the Year aforesaid at the said Parish of
Saint George Hanover Square she the said Sarah Coombe of the
mortal Wound and Concussion aforesaid did die And so the Jurors
aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid, do say that the said Sarah Coombe
in Manner and by the means aforesaid Accidentally Casually and by
Misfortune came to her Death and not otherwise

In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner as the said
William Whitehead Foreman of the said Jurors on the behalf of
himself and the rest of his fellows in their presence have to this Inquisition
set their Hands and Seals the Day Year and Place abovementioned
