Informations taken this Eleventh
day of November 1788 at the Parish of
St. George Hanover Square with in the
Liberty of Westmr. in the County of Midsex
upon an Inquisition touching the
death of John Strickland< no role > lying dead
in the said Parish Liberty & County

Thomas King< no role > a Lodger at No. 12. in Green
Street in the Parish of St. George Hanr. Square
Carpenter , on his Oath with That Yesterday
about two o'Clock, this Dept. was informed.
by Mr. Skelton that a Man had Hanged himself
at Mr. Bedwell No.11. in said Street, upon
which he went up and in the Lodging of
John Strickland< no role > he saw him Hanging by a
Cord which was fastened to two oClock Pins
in the Wairscot , and about the Deced's Neck
with a running Noose, Says that he cut
the Cord with a pair of Seessars and Deced
fell down upon the Floor being Cold and Deced,
and Dept. believes that the Deced Hanged
himself,

Mary Bidwell< no role > of Green Street on her Oath
Saith That John Strickland< no role > the Deced has Lodged
about three Months with Dept. That she went
up Yesterday Afternoon about two o'Clock to
make the Deced's Bed and found the Room Door
Locked and the Key in the Lock on the inside
of the Door, Says that with another Key that
see had, She found out the Key & unlocked the Door and saw
the Deced Hanging there, Says that she
immediately went down Stairs and
acquainted her Family and Neighbours
therewith, and Mr. King soon [..] went
up to Deced, and cut [..] the Cord as Dept. was
informed and Dept. believes that the Deced
Hanged himself, Says that the Deced for
the last fortnight has been low Spirited and
Droeping
