Informations taken this Third day of
July 1788 at the Parish of St. George
Hanover Square within the Liberty
of Westmr . in the County of Midsex upon
an Inquisition touching the death of
Dept. Hawkins lying dead in the said
Parish Liberty and County.

Elizabeth the Widow of John Hawkins< no role > the Deced
Berwicks Court Hancutta Street Mary le bone
on her Oath saith, That on Monday Morning
last the Thirtieth day of June John Hawkins< no role >
the Deced got up about four o'Clock and walked
about the Room smoaking his Pipe until
between five and six o'Clock, when he took
a Towell and went out and Dept. thought
that he was going to Bath himself, as he
had been ordered to do, the Deced being
afficted with Fits, Says that not returning
the Deced went Yesterday Morning into
Hyde Park to inquire for the Deced and was
informed that a Man was Drowned there
in the Serpentine River on Monday last
Says that the was informed soon after that
the Body was taken out of the River Drowned
and Dept. went to see him and found him
to be her Husband, but she observed no
Marks of violence upon the Deced, Says
that Mr. Jones one of the Keepers of Hyde Park
told Dept. that the Deced was found in the
Serpentine River near the Garden wall on
that side in the Parish of St. George , That he
found a Man's Cloaths by the side of the River
last Monday Morning with a Napkin upon
the Cloaths, and shocked a Poketbook to this
Dept. which she says belonged to her Husband

out with an Intent to Bath himself and to
