Informations taken the Twenty fifth day
of June 1788 at the Parish of St. James
within the Liberty of Westmr. in the County
of Midsex upon an Inquisition touching
the death of William Nevin< no role > lying dead
in the said Parish Liberty & County

John Lewis< no role > of Warwick Street Golden Square
Apothecary on his Oath saith That Yesterday
between Six and seven o'Clock Dept. was desired
to go to a Young Man who had hanged himself
upon which Dept. went, and in Mr. Borton's
House in Warwick Street found the Deced
laid upon a Bed in the Garret Says that
he had a Circle around his Neck made
by a Cord, which lay upon the Bed which
appeared to have been cut from another peace
of Cord fastened to an Iron Staple in the Ceiling
of the Room, and believes the Deced was hung
with that Cord, there being no other Marks
of violence upon the Deced, Says that he
attempted to bleed the Deced and used every
other Means in his power for a long time
to restore the Deced to Life, but to no
purpose the Deced having hung to long.

Elizabeth Hearer< no role > Servant to Mr. Norton
in Warwick Street on her Oath saith That
she came to live there on Saturday the [..]
[..] twenth first Instant That she was often with the
Deced who was Apprentice to Mr. Norton, Says
that about five o'Clock Yesterday Afternoon
the Deced went up into the Garret carrying
on Flaskett with [..] [..] Cloaths which he was [..] that about
Six o'Clock Mr. Norton wanted the Deced to
fetch some Stamps and desired Dept. to
call the Deced, upon which Dept. went up
Stairs and found the Deced Hanging at the
[..] side
