Twenty seventh day of December
1786 at the Parish of St. Clement
Danes within the Liberty of
Westmr . in the County of Midsex
upon an Inquisition touching the
death of William Cattell< no role > an Infant
lying dead in the said Parish Liberty
and County.

William Cattell< no role > of New Inn Passage
in the Parish of St. Clement Danes
Brass Founder on his Oath saith That
on Saturday last the Twenty third
Instant this Dept. was at home and
is well satisfied that Rebecca< no role > his Wife
& Mother to the Deced put the Deced
upon a Bed in a Back Rom in Dept.
House to Sleep as she used to do every
day Says that Susanna Partridge
Sister to Mrs. Cattell was Dressing
herself in the Back Room in order
to go out which she did about three
o'Clock That about four o'Clock
Mr. Cattell went and the Back [..]
and seeing the Bed Turned up she
was alarmed crying what has my Sister
done with the Child and not seeing it
She that down the Bed and found the
Deced smothered in the Bed Cloaths
and Dept. saw it likewise; and an
apothecary who was fetched; pronounced
the Child to [..] and Dept. believes
that Susanna Partridge< no role > turned up
the Bed not knowing that the Child
was there asleep, and that the Child's
Death was verily Accidental
