Informations taken this Ninth
day of June 1786 at the Parish of St.
Margaret within the Liberty of
Westmr. in the County of Middlsex upon
an Inquisition touching the death of
William Stanley< no role > lying dead in the said
Parish Liberty and County.

William King< no role > a Laborer on his Oath saith
That he works for Mr. Richard Madley< no role > of
Channel Row in the Parish of St. Margaret
Westmr. Coal Merchant , and that William
Stanley
< no role > the Deced was employed by
Mr. Stanley as a Watchman to watch the
Coals in the Lighters at Mr. Midley's
wharf at Night Says that he Yesterday
Morning about five o' Clock went to work
as usual at Mr. Medley's wharf, when
he discovered the Deced lying upon his
Back in the Mied between two ball Lie [..]
in the River Thomas with his Head down
the River, and acquainted her Fellow
Servants therewith who likewise saw
the Deced, Says that he assisted to get
the Deced. out of the Mud (the Tidd was
then Ebbing) and put him into one
of the Barges, the Deced being dead and
Cold, Says that he observed no Marks of
violence upon the Deced, and believes
that the Deced Accidentally fell out of [..]
the Lighters into the River Thames and
was there Drowned and Suffocated.
