Joshua Purdey< no role > grave Digger to the
Parish of St. Martin in the Fields on
his Oath saith That Yesterday about
three o'Clock in the Afternoon this Dept.
was Drinking at the Sign of the White
Horse in St. Martins Lane , when he
saw People running, saying, that
a Child was run over by a Cart
upon which Dept. went out and saw the
Deced lying upon the Pavement at the
End of Chandors Street in the Parish of
St. Martin in the Fields , Bleeding from
her Nose and Ear, Says that the Deced
could not speak or move herself, That
the Deced was put upon Boards and
carried to St. Martins Workhouse
where she died immediately Says
that when he went to the Deced he was
informed by the people there that the
Carter saved two Children who had fallen
down in the Street with the Deced
and did every thing in his Power to
save her but was not able to Stop his
Horses, and that the burst she reced
was merely Accidental.

Surgeon on his Oath saith that he
Yesterday Examined the Deced in St.
Martins Work house and found a
violent Fracture on the left side of Deced
Head which was the cause of her Death
