Informations taken this twenty
seventh day of December 1785 at
Tothill Fields Bridewell in the
Parish of St. Margaret with in the
Liberty of Westmr. in the County of
Middlesex upon an Inquisition
touching the death of Elizabeth
Barton
< no role > a Prisoner then and there
lying dead.

Elizabeth Haysel< no role > a Prisoner in Tothill
Fields Bridewell on her Oath saith
That she has been Prisoner there about
nine Weeks That Elizabeth Barton< no role > the
Deced has been prisoner there about
six Weeks appearing to be in perfect
Health when she came in Says that Deced has been ill
about a Month being Seized with a Fever
and was uneasy in her Mind, Says that
Deced grew worse and, died in said
Prison Yesterday Morning about half
past Twelve o'Clock Says that she attended
the Deced the whole time, That she had
not only the Allowance of the Prison every
day from the Governor likewise Money
to buy Nourishment That Deced had
Medicines from Mr. Hanbury the Apothecary
which she took, That the Deced was not
ill used. by any Person in said Prison
and believes that the Deced died a
natural Death.
