Informations taken this Twentieth
day of July 1785 at Tothill Fields
Bridewell in the Parish of St. Margaret
within the Liberty of Westmr. in the
County of Middlesex upon an Inquisition
touching the death of Edward Towser< no role > a
Prisoner lying dead in the said Prison

Richard Cope< no role > a Prisoner in Tothill Fields
Bridewell on his Oath saith That Edward
Towser
< no role > the Deced was brought to said
Prison being charged with an attempt to
commit So do my as Deft was informed about six or seven
Weeks ago, appearing then to be in Health
That he continued so about a Month
That he was then Seized with a pain
in his Head and Limbs, and appeared
to be Feverish, That he at first took
his Medicines regularly, but for the
last Ten days refused his Medicines
and would not Eat his Allowance which
was ordered by the Governor, who likewise
gave Dept. Money to buy proper
Nourishment for the Deced which he
did, but Dept. would take nothing but
Tea, Broth, and some Warm Porter
Says that Deced grew worse and Died
last Night about Eight o' Clock in the prison Says that
the Deced was not ill used by any Person
in the Prison, and Dept. believes that
the Deced died in a natural Way.
