Information taken this Twenty fifth
day of February 1785 at the Parish of
St. George Hanover Square within the
Liberty of Westmr. in the County of
Midsex upon an Inquisition touching
the death of Thomas Harland< no role > lying
dead in the said Parish Liberty &
County.

John Underwood< no role > of North Row in the
Parish of St. George Hanover Square Chandler
on his Oath saith That Thomas Harland< no role >
the Deced has Lodged with Dept. upwards of three
Months, That Mr. Bryan a Washerwoman
came Yesterday for Deced's Linen to be
washed and could not get into his Room
that she came again bind called to Deced
but had no Answer, upon which Dept. went up
Stairs to Deced's Room Door, found it Locked
and the Key in the Lock on the inside of
the Door, That on looking under the Door
Dept. saw the Deced's foot near the Floor
in the Room, upon which Mr. Weaver
with an Iron Crow forced open the Door
in Dept. presence and they went into
the Room and saw the Deced Hanging
by a Cord which was fastened to a Nail
drove into a piece of Timber in the
Room, and about his own Neck, Says
that Mr. Weaver cut the Cord by which
Deced was Hanging and laid him upon
a Board, being Deced and Cold, and Dept
believes that the Deced Hanged himself
Says that the Deced appeared at times
to be low Spirited of late and Dept. observed
him to [..] so on Wednesday last
