Informations taken this Fifth day of
June 1784 at the Parish of St. George Hanr.
Square within the Liberty of Westmr. in the
County of Midsex upon an Inquisition touching
the Death of Jeremiah Langton< no role > lying dead in
the said Parish Liberty and County.

Thomas Hirst< no role > Assistant to Mr. Crow [..] Keeper
of Hyde Park at the Gate at Hyde Park Corner on
his Oath saith that he was Yesterday employed with
Jeremiah Langton< no role > the Deced, in Watering the Road
in Hyde Park . That they went with a Water Cart
drawn by two Horses into the Serpentine River
and had nearly filled the Cart with Water
they backed the Horses a little way that the Cart
might fill, when both the Wheels got into a
Hole and the Cart turned on one side Says
that he got into the Water, and soon got upon the
Cart again the Deced being there likewise
Says that finding the Cart got deeper into
the River, this Dept. jumped off the Cart
into the Water and after some Difficulty
got [..] the Shore, Says that he then turned
about and saw the Deced's Hands and Head
about Water, and in about a Minute
Sunk, and was Drowned, Says that a Boot
was got and the Deced was taken out to the Shore in the
Parish of St. George Hanover Square , And
this Dept. says that the Deced's Death was merely
accidental.
