Informations taken this twenty third
day of March 1784 at the Parish of St. George
Hanover Square within the Liberty of
Westmr. in the County of Middlesex upon an
Inquisition touching the death of James
Cheeseman
< no role > an Infant lying dead in the
Said Parish Liberty and County.

Elizabeth Shield< no role > a Fruiterer in Knightsbridge
Widow on her Oath saith, That on Saturday
the TwentiethThirtiethInstant about Twelve o'Clock
at Noon Dept. was in Kinghtsbridge and saw
James Cheeseman< no role > the Infant lying down in
the Road there upon his face Says that a
Waggon was just passed along towards
Hyde Park Corner, that the Waggon was
Stopped at the Wheel within a few Inches of the Child
But Dept.did not see the Wheel pass over
the Deced, Says that the Deced was taken
up and Dept. was desired to carry it to St. George's Hospital
Hyde Park Corner , Says that she carried
the Child there, that it was alive there be [..]
could not speak and died immediately,
Says that the Child was Bruised and a
piece of the flesh tore on the left side but
Dept. cannot say how it happened

Oath Saith That on Saturday last the Twentieth
Instant,thathe saw the [..] off wheel [mark] [..] wheel waggon drawn
by Eight Horses, pass over the Body of James
Cheeseman
< no role > an Infant in the Road at Kinghtsbridge
says that the Child's Body was bruised, and that
he was immediately carried to St. George's Hospital
in the Parish of St. George Hanover Square where
he died immediately as Dept. informed Says
that
