An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King at the Parish of Saint John the Evangelist
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the Twenty sixth day of January in the twenty fourth
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of
Great Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas

good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said Constance Frost< no role > come to
her Death, do upon their Oath say , That William Wade< no role > late of the said Parish
of Saint John the Evangelist within the Liberty and County aforesaid Baker not having the Fear
of God before his Eyes but being moved and seduced by the Instigation of the Devil and
wickedly devising and intending Constance Frost his Apprentice to kill and Murder,
on the Fifteenth day of January in the Year aforesaid with Force and Arms at the Parish
aforesaid within the Liberty and County aforesaid in and upon the said Constance Frost then
being his Apprentice and in the Peace of God and our said Lord the King then and there being
feloniously wilfully and of his Malice afore thought did make an Assault And tha the said William
Wade
< no role > on the said Fifteenth day of January in the Year aforesaid and on divers other days between
that day and the Twenty fourth day of the same Month in the same Year at the Parish and in the
Liberty and County aforesaid to give and Administer to the said Constance Frost his said Apprentice
sufficient and necessary Sustenance and Food for the Preservation and support of her Body.
feloniously wilfully and of his Malice afore thought did neglect and refuse And that the said
William Wade< no role > during some Nights between the Twentieth day of January and the twenty fourth
day of the same Month at the Parish aforesaid within the Liberty and County aforesaid her
the said Constance Frost in Severe frosty Weather to lay in a Wet an Damp Cellar without proper and necessary
Bed and Bedding for the Defence of the said Constance Frost from the Inclemency of the Weather feloniously
wilfully and of his Malice afore thought did oblige and compel, By Reason of which said neglecting
and refusing to Administer to the said Constance Frost sufficient and necessary sustenance and Food as
aforesaid And also by reason of which said obliging and compelling the said Constance Frost to lay in the
Wet and Damp Cellar in manner aforesaid she the said Constance Frost did languish and languishing did live
until the Twenty fourth day of January in the Year aforesaid, on which said Twenty fourth day of January. She the said
Constance Frost being refused the Sustenance and Food aforesaid, in the said Wet and Damp Cellar within the Parish Liberty
and County aforesaid in the Frosty Weather aforesaid did die. And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say
that by said William Wade< no role > her the said Constance Frost in Manner and by the Means aforesaid feloniously wilfully and of his
Malice aforethought did, kill and Murder against the Peace of our said Lord the King his Crown and Dignity, And that the said William Wade< no role >
at the time of the commtting of the Felony and Murder aforesaid or at any time, Since had no Goods or Chattels Lands or Tenements within the said
Liberty or elsewhere to the Knowledge of the said Jurors. In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner, as the said Edward Spice< no role > Foreman
of the Jurors on the behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows in their presence have to the Inquisition set their Hands and
Seals the Day Year and Place about written.
