Informations taken this Ninth
day of January 1783 at the Parish of
St. George Hanover Square within the
Liberty of Westmr. in the County of
Middlesex upon an Inquisition touching
the death of Archdale Rooke< no role > lying deced
in the said Parish Liberty & County.

David Tolly< no role > of Down Street in the Parish
of St. George Hanover Square Chandler on his
Oath saith That Archdale Rooke< no role > the Deced
has Lodged with Dept. about Twelve Years
Says that she Deced was down Stairs twice
on Tuesday last Jany. 7th. and wrote a Petition
for Mrs. Robinson that Afternoon, and Dept.
did not sea Deced afterwards alive Says that
the next Morning he sent a Child upstairs
with a Rowl for Deced's Breakfast, and
Town returned saying she could not make
him hear That he afterwards went up
and called Deced and had no Answer, that
a Lamplighter went up his Ladder and looked
through the Window but could not see the
Deced in the Room Says that a Smith was
fetched, who forced open the Deced & Room
Door, which was Locked, upon which Dept.
Mr. Warren and some others went into the
Room and saw the Deced lying on his Back
on the Floor, there between the Bed and the
Fire Place, with his Head resting against
the Waincott, Says that he felt the Deced
who was dead and Cold, appearing to have
been dead some time, Says that he observed
no Marks of violence upon the Deced, and
Dept. believes that the Deced Died in a fit,
the Decd having had several Fitz before,
Says that when he got into the Room he
saw the Key of the Room Door lying upon some
Drawers in the Room.
