Informations taken this Twenty third
day of December 1782 at the Parish
of St. George Hanover Square within
the Liberty of Westmr in the County of
Midsex upon an Inquisition touching
the death of Henry Marteson< no role > lying dead
in the said Parish Liberty and County

Susannah Conner< no role > of North Row Widow on her
Oath saith That she was hired by the Deced to
Nurse a Woman who lived with him in Paris
Buildings, during her Lying In, Says that she
went on Thursday the Twelfth Instant to the Deced
House in Paris Buildings in the Parish of St. George
Hanover Square and the Woman (named Elizabeth
Turner
< no role > ) was brought to Bed that Night, Says
that she continued there to Nurse Mr. Turner
Says that the Deced appeared to be low Spirited
and Drooping all that time, and complained
of a Cold and a violent pain in his Back
Says that the Deced Breakfasted last Saturday
Morning (Decr. 21st.) with Mr Turner and this
Dept. and was afterwards going to Shave
himself had made a Lather and was
putting it upon his Face, when Dept. went
out into the next Room, Says that in about
two Minutes Dept. heard Mrs. Turner (who was
in Bed) Scream out and Clapping her Hands
together, upon which Dept. went into the Room
and saw the Deced walking backwards and
forwards in the Room Blooding very much
from the Throat, Says that she endeavoured
to stop the Blood, and then found his Throat
was Cut, That he bled very much and that
Mrs. Turner took hold of the Shirt if his [..]
and pulled him down upon the Bed where he
died in five or six Minutes, of the Wound
in his Throat which Dept. believes the Deced
gave himself with a Razorwhich Dept. found
open upon the Floor by the Bed side bloody
Says
that the Deced was in a low Despending way
