Informations taken this Fourth day
of December 1780 at the Parish of St. James
within the Liberty of Westmr. in the
County of Midsex upon an Inquisition
touching the Death of a new born Female
Child lying dead in the said Parish
Liberty and County.

Thomas William< no role > of Broad Street in the
Parish of St. James Westmr. Surgeon on his
Oath saith That he this day Examined a new
born Female Child in the Bone House belonging
to the said Parish, that the Child was in a
Putred State, and from the Appearance of
the Child Dept. has reason to believe that it
was Strangled, but that it might happen
Accidentally in the Birth, or Wilfully.

Elizabeth Taaffe< no role > Servant to William Cox< no role >
Victualler at the Sign of the Horse Shoe in
Jermyn Street in the Parish of St. James
Westmr. on her Oath saith That she was in
her Master's Taproom this Morning about
Eight o'Clock when a Bricklayer came in
saying that a Child was found at the Door
of Mrs. Bromhill in Berry Street next Door
to Mr. Cox's upon which she went out and
saw the Child lying at Mrs. Bromhill's Door
wrapt in a piece of Linnen Cloath Covered
with Brown Paper a tied with Pack thread
the Child being dead but Dept. did not Examined
it, Says that Mr. Cox's Little Boy was sent
to Mr. Hughes the Constable to desire that the
Child might be taken away, and in about
half an hour the Child was taken away.
