Informations taken this Fourth day of May 1780
at the Parish of St. James within the Liberty of Westmr.
in the County of Midsex upon an Inquisition touching
the death of Thomas Painter< no role > lying dead in the said
Parish Liberty and County.

Martha Warden< no role > aged Twenty years Apprentice
to Thomas Blake< no role > at the Snu [..] Coffee house in
Pall Mall in the Parish of St. James Westmr. on her
Oath saith, that Yesterday Afternoon Dept. was on
her Master's Kitchen washing some Linen
That Thomas Painter< no role > the Deced aged about
Thirteen years likewise apprentice to Mr. Blake
came into the Kitchein for some wood to light
a Fire, between five & six the same afternoon
and carried up the Wood, That the Deced soon
came down Stairs again for some Coals, That
she this Dept. filled the seattle with Coals, and
put it down in the passage at the bottom of
the Kitchen Stairs, and fold Deced to carry
them up, and Deced said I shall not But
said to Dept. Now I'll make you believe that
I am Hanging myself, and said he would go
into the Yard to see the Bird, and Deced
immediately went into the Yard, and Dept.
did not see the Deced come into the Kitchin
again out of the Yard, Says that the Deced
before he went into the Yard came to Deced
and throw some [..] not of the washtub upon
her
