Robert Clibson< no role > of Somerset Street Goodman's
Fields Cooper on his Oath saith That on
Saturday Night last Dept. went to the Sign
of the Bengal in Monsal Street where
Thomas Price< no role > was Drinking, That soon
after John Hornsby< no role > the Deced came in
and drunk with them in the same Bose
part of two or three Pots of Beer in a very
friendly chearful manner That the Deced
and Price talked of Fighting Cocks, and
after some discourse agreed to fight each
a Cock for a Guinea and Deced put down half
a Guinea, and Price put down half a Crown
upon whichwhichDeced said that it was
not worth his while to fetch a Cock thirty Miles to fight
for half a Crown, and took up his half Guinea.
Upon which Price said my Word is as good
as my Money You Snipe Nosed Puppy, or Foot
to which Deced said You cannot make one
of one and there's half a Crown, putting it
upon the Table to Price's saying [..] Coat, Waist coats will fight
you for it, Says that they both stripped [..] and
went out into Headon Square , in the Parish
of

of Trinity Minories within the Lower
Hamletts London, Says That the Deced
struck the said Thomas Price< no role > first and
that they then fought some time, each of them
receiving very hard Blows and several
falls, That they then took off their Shirts
and fought again, when the Deced threw
Price down with his Head upon theStone
Foot Pavement and fell upon him
That Price lay there some time and was
helped up, Dept. thinking that he could
Fight no more, but they did fight
some time afterwards, and were at last
parted neither of them giving out
Says that he afterwards was with the
Deced in the Stable, when he appeared
chearful and in good Spirits, saying
that his Thumb was out, and feared having
a Black Eye, but complained of no
other hurt, Says that some Beef was put
to the Deced's Eye, and Dept. left him in
the Stable and went home. And Dept.
says that he endeavoured to prevent the
Deced's fighting but Deced would fight.
