Informations taken this Nineteeth
day of July 1779 at the Parish of St. Martin
in the Fields within the Liberty of Westmr
in the County of Midsex upon an Inquisition
touching the death of William Bellingham< no role >
lying dead in the said Parish Liberty & County

James Jackson< no role > a Soldier in the First
Regiment of Guards on his Oath saith, That
yesterday in the Afternoon Dept. was informed
that a Boy was Drowned in the Cannel
in St. James's Park upon which he went
there took off his Cloaths and went into
the Channel and Dived some time but
could not find the Deced, Says that he
went again this Morning, with another
Man, and after Driving a Considerable
time, the other Man said he had found
firm, Upon which the Deced Dived there
and got the Deced to the Shore, Says
that he was dead and appeared to have
been some time in the Water, and
Dept. saw no Marks of violence upon
the Deced.
